Samsung Galaxy S21: What is coming with this Flagship model?
Samsung is set to unveil its Galaxy S21 flagships on January 14, 2021, which is less than a month away at this point. As usual, we’ve seen a plethora of leaks over the past months giving us a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming flagship trio. Now we have yet another interesting find of the Galaxy S21 news courtesy of ever-reliable Ice Universe.
Recently Qualcomm unveiled the benchmark scores of their latest chipset the Snapdragon 888 with scores 1139 and 3800 in single and multicore respectively. Samsung’s counterpart, the Exynos 2100 is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 888 ending Qualcomm’s reign as the best Android chipset out there, and the latest Geekbench scores just prove that theory.
As you can see, Exynos 2100 equipped Galaxy S21 scored, 1089 in Single-Core and 3963 in Multicore which is more than Qualcomm’s offering. It’s important to remember that the scores of the Exynos 2100 will improve even further because we’re still almost 20 days away from the official announcement. By that time, the single-core should be around 1200 while the Multicore should be easily over 4100. The scores of the Snapdragon 888 are final because Qualcomm itself has officially given these numbers.
So, tables have turned, Exynos has finally reclaimed the title as the world’s fastest Android chipset. Now we have some updated information about the pricing of the Galaxy S21 lineup in Europe.
A couple of days ago, we saw the pricing of the S21 trio from 91mobiles and GalaxyClub which are reputable sources by the way that showed while the price of the S21 plus has been reduced and the S21 Ultra has been made costlier by 50 Euros compared to the previous generation. Roland Quandt however says while the price of the S21 and S21+ is accurate, the S21 Ultra will cost 1349 euros instead which is the same as the S20 Ultra’s launch price. Of course, these prices could apply to some European countries, not all, but at least we have a fairly accurate idea of what to expect. Considering Samsung is removing the charger and headphones from the box, a 1299-euro price tag for the Ultra would have been more sensible but it is what it is.
That said the Galaxy Buds Pro will launch alongside. The teardown of the Buds Pro app reveals that the upcoming earbuds will feature 3D spatial audio for videos, similar to the AirPods Pro. This feature uses head-tracking to offer and I quote “vivid, immersive sound coming from all directions so you feel like you are right in the scene” while watching videos.
It seems like Samsung is using a combination of special Gyro sensors, Dolby Atmos, and SoundAlive to make this happen. Now because of this, the bud’s pro will be costlier. According to the latest information from GalaxyClub, these buds will cost 229 euros in Europe which is 30 euros more than the buds live. But the good thing is, Samsung will give these buds for free if you decide to preorder the S21 lineup but remember that not all countries will get the same offer.
